SETTLE

SETTLE
Description

The SETTLE model analyzes dredged material settling data to design Confined Disposal Facilities (CDFs) for clarification, effluent quality and initial storage requirements.  The model computes zone settling velocity, flocculent settling and compression settling for sizing CDFs and outlet weirs to prevent scouring of settled dredged material.  The model facilitates rapid optimization of CDF design for dike height, area and dredge production.

Software

Current Version:  3.0

The SETTLE modeling software is available at no charge.  A self-extracting executable file for SETTLE V:3.0 can be downloaded from https://dots.el.erdc.dren.mil/products.cfm?Topic=model&Type=drgmat.  Note that this version must be operated in a DOS-based operating environment.  Until this version can be updated, a DOS emulator such as DOSBox must be used to operate SETTLE on Windows based 64-bit operating systems.  DOSBox can be downloaded at https://www.dosbox.com.  Alternatively, SETTLE can be run on older Windows operating systems such as Windows XP which can run DOS programs.
